Personalised Nutrition Support for Older Australians

Why Nutrition Matters More as We Age

Ageing brings real physiological changes — reduced appetite, shifts in how the body absorbs nutrients, altered gut function, changes in muscle mass, and increased risk of conditions like heart disease, inflammation and poor immune response. What worked nutritionally at 40 may not serve the body as well at 70 or 80. Yet many older adults — and the families supporting them — feel overwhelmed trying to navigate conflicting advice, manage multiple medications, or simply get enough nourishment into a day.

Fleur takes a thorough, evidence-informed approach to aged care nutrition on the Mornington Peninsula. She looks at the whole picture: what a person is eating, how their body is responding, what their bloodwork suggests, and what is realistic given their lifestyle, preferences and budget. The result is a nutrition plan that is genuinely achievable — not one that gathers dust on a fridge door.

How it works

How an Aged Care Nutrition Consultation Works

1

Step 1 — Comprehensive Initial Consultation

Your first appointment runs for up to 90 minutes. Fleur takes a detailed health history, reviews current medications and supplements, explores dietary habits and appetite concerns, and discusses any specific health conditions or goals. Consultations are available face-to-face at Mount Eliza or Pinnacle Physio in Dromana, via telehealth for clients across Australia and internationally (excluding USA), and as home visits when required due to mobility issues.

2

Step 2 — Functional Testing and Blood Analysis

Where appropriate, Fleur can arrange or review functional blood pathology to identify nutritional gaps, inflammation markers, or other areas worth addressing. This takes the guesswork out of the process and gives the nutrition plan a solid, evidence-based foundation — particularly useful when managing complex or chronic health concerns common in later life.

3

Step 3 — A Personalised, Practical Nutrition Plan

Fleur builds a tailored treatment protocol and nutrition plan that reflects the individual's health priorities, food preferences, living situation and supplement budget. Follow-up consultations allow the plan to be reviewed and adjusted over time as needs change — because ageing well is an ongoing journey, not a one-off fix.

Aged Care Nutrition — Frequently Asked Questions

What does an aged care certified practising nutritionist actually do?

An aged care certified practising nutritionist assesses the dietary and nutritional needs of older adults and develops personalised plans to support their health and wellbeing. This can include addressing poor appetite, unintentional weight loss, nutrient deficiencies, digestive concerns, heart health, bone health, immune function and energy levels. Fleur also considers how medications may affect nutritional status and works collaboratively with the broader care team where needed.

Can a family member attend the consultation?

Absolutely. Fleur welcomes family members or carers at consultations — particularly when the older adult has complex needs or when a family member is coordinating care. Telehealth appointments also make it easy for family members in different locations to be involved in the conversation.

Is this service available if my parent or grandparent is in residential aged care?

Fleur can work with older adults living independently, in supported accommodation or in residential care settings. Telehealth consultations make it straightforward to connect regardless of location across Australia. If you are unsure whether a consultation is suitable for your situation, you are welcome to book a free 15-minute discovery call to talk it through first.

How much does a nutrition consultation cost?

An initial 90-minute consultation is $180 and a 60-minute return consultation is $130, whether you see Fleur in Mount Eliza, Dromana or online via telehealth. A free 15-minute discovery call is also available, and Smart DNA testing and functional pathology packages are listed on the Appointments & Pricing page.

Is telehealth available for aged care nutrition consultations?

Yes. Fleur offers online nutrition consultations for clients across Australia and internationally (excluding USA). Telehealth is a practical option for older adults who find travel difficult, or for family members who want to be part of the appointment from a different location.

What areas on the Mornington Peninsula does Fleur see clients in person?

Fleur consults in person at two locations: her Mount Eliza practice and Pinnacle Physio in Dromana. Home visits may also be available when required due to mobility issues. These locations make her accessible to clients across the Mornington Peninsula, including Frankston, Mornington, Rosebud, Rye, Sorrento, Portsea and surrounding areas. Online consultations extend her reach Australia-wide.
